An artist’s concept of the Bernardo Soto highway west of the international airport. At a cost of US$478 million dollars, the plan will be presented to Ministerio de Planificación on May 5th.
The proposal includes tolls of ¢2.800 colones in each direction between the airport and San Ramón.

OMG!
This artist’s conception does not show shoulders on the right side of the principal highway. There should be space to the side of the road for broken down cars and cars pulled over by transit cops to get out of the traffic lanes.
The bus stops are a nice touch, but I just noticed that there is not space for buses to pull completely out of the traffic lane so that others can pass without changing lanes. Even (especially) on two-lane roads, there should be space at bus stops for the buses to get completely out of the traffic lane so as not to obstruct traffic flow. This artist’s conception is reminiscent of most laws passed by the legislative assembly: well intended, but poorly thought through.
