COSTA RICA NEWS – Despite the installation of signals at a number of train crossings, drivers continue to play “chicken” with the train.
The above photo was taken by Canal 9 cameras that clearly shows drivers not respecting the signals, some filing complaints with authorities of not being well coordinated.
Respecting a passing train is not in Costa Rican culture, this partly due that the train is not a common mode of transportation, operating in the Central Valley only during weekday morning and afternoon rush hours and limited to the cities of San José, Heredia and Cartago.
