The first week of mid-year school break resulted in numerous traffic accidents, injuries and ten deaths in total.
One of the accidents that sent nine people to hospital, several in delicate condition, occurred on the Ruta 27, near Atenas.
According to the Cruz Roja (Red Cross) reports, the strikes and blockades of last week helped keep the holiday fatalities low.
