QCOSTARICA SPORTS – Costa Rican cyclist Andrey Amador continues to show well in the Giro de Italia cycling race, placing 12th in Wednesday’s stage and holding onto 10th place in the general standings.

The fifth stage was the third consecutive day in the mountains and the Tico finished the 152 kilometer trip between Spezia and Abetone in 4 hours, 11 minutes and 11 seconds, two minutes behind the stage winner Jan Polanc, who arrived alone at the finish line after leading a breakaway in kilometer 15.

After Day 2 Amador was 25th in the general classification, and currently is one minute behind the leader Alberto Contador of Spain, while his teammate Giovanni Visconti is 7th.

The race has a total of 21 stages and ends May 31st in Milan, so there is a tough row to hoe for the Tico, but ¡Vamos Andrey!
