AutoMercado supermarkets has launched an application to extend the shopping experience before, during and after the visit to the supermarket.
“Trends in the world and the retail industry motivate us to stay ahead and offer our customers experiences, benefits and satisfaction that transcend their purchases”, says AutoMercado marketing manager, Anabelle Duran.
For now the application is only available for the iPhone. The supermarket chain expectes by the second quarter to expand the application to Android phones.
Using their Auto Frecuente number, the app generates an online digital frequent customer account, and can use their mobile to accumulate points on purchases (instead of the plastic card). For now the app can only be used at the Guachipelin (Escazu), La Guacima and Tres Rios, as well as all Vindi convenience stores, but the company says all stores will be digital in the coming months.
The app allows the creation of a shopping list with product picture and description. Repeat customers can personalize their information of the most common purchases and search trough products by category or description. A bar code scanner can also be used to obtain product information.
Activating “AM Advisor” will help facilitate the purchase and access to preferred products. By way of the app, the customer can get instant information on products and discounts based on their location in the store.
The app also allows the customer to check on their accumulated points and receive information about promotions, like double point products and product information with respect to gluten-free, low in sugar, kosher and organic products, among others.
