(QCOSTARICA) The Cruz Roja (Red Cross) confirmed Friday morning the discovery fo the lifeless body of the American missing for four days after being swept by a current in the Pacific off Playa Jaco.

Ibrahim Sam Karadsheh, 33 years of age, a native of Palmdale, California, had arrived in Costa Rica last Sunday along with two cousins, enjoying their vacation in the country.

It was midday Tuesday when “Sam” was swept by a undercurrent, in front of the hotel he was staying, and was not able to get out.

The Tuesday swept through the area by the Cruz Roja, with more than 15 people devoted to the search, was without success.

“The biggest problem we have is that the waves are of significant size, the waves and the currents are too strong, so we could not use divers in the area,” said on Tuesday Guillermo Arroyo, director of operations for the Cruz Roja.
