QCOSTARICA – The 2015 regulation that is being prepared by the Dirección General de Aviación Civil (DGAC) – Civil Aviation, provides for the regulation of commercial and recreational use and provision for tuition and certifications.
The DGAC) is seeking to regulate the commercial and recreational use of drones using regulation that will have as its basis what was established by the International Civil Aviation Organization.
It is expected that the official regulation will be ready by June 2015. Meanwhile, it is projected that in the coming days an operational directive will be published which will include some of the regulations for private and commercial activities.
Alvaro Vargas, director of the DGAC, told Crhoy.com that “… ‘Businesses will be subject to other more stringent standards in terms of requirements, identification, registration, insurance, weight and several things which are under evaluation in the regulations … The regulation will include the need to be certified by the Dgac, those who want to carry out commercial activities will have to be certified by us, they must have manuals, procedures, training and defined areas of operation.'”
