In case someone should ask about faxing ballots, several states allow overseas and military voters to return their voted ballots by fax for the US midterm elections
Five states give overseas voters the option of returning their ballots either by postal mail or fax. Due to delays and uncertainties with postal mail, voters should ALWAYS choose fax. The five states are:
- 1. Alaska
- 2. California
- 3. Florida
- 4. Louisiana
- 5. Oklahoma
Of Democrats Abroad Costa Rica’s (DACR) 1,715 members, 450 can vote by fax.
On Sept. 17, an email blast about faxing was sent to 395 of those members. So far, 38% of the emails have been opened, an extremely high rate. Faxing service will be offered at all our upcoming ballot assistance events.

FAXING YOUR BALLOT
You can fax your ballot from home using the FaxZero website.
First, print your blank ballot. Next, complete, sign, and date the ballot. Then, scan the ballot. If your fax is three pages or less, it’s free.
For more than three pages, there will be a charge of US$3.29.
Once you have completed all the steps on the FaxZero website and your ballot is successfully faxed, you will receive confirmation from them.
