job-fair-costa-ricaQCOSTARICA – The government of Luis Guillermo Solis tells us it has created more than 7.292 jobs in the first two months of the year, of which 5.750 were through job fairs.

But, employers offering jobs at the fairs say they cannot be counted as “immediate” jobs.

Following a job fair, it can be months before a person is actually hired, going through the process of selection and interviews.

Labour Minister, Victor Morales says the figures shows that there in an interest by the government to create jobs.

President Solis promised to create 217.000 jobs in the four years of his administration.

According to the Ministry of Labour, between January and February of this year, a total of 737 jobs were lost.
