QCOSTARICA – Product marketing companies are paying the highest average monthly salary, ¢1.193.000 (US$2,230,) followed by those in the technology, ¢1.159.960 (US$2,170) and communications sector and thirdly, service companies, ¢1.072.692 (US$2,005).

A study by Talent Partner for Grupo Nacion’s Empleo.com indicates that in monthly salaries in general “… a basic operator makes ¢382.114 (US$715), while someone in a management position earns ¢3.137.813 (US$5,865), as an average median of the amounts processed.” In the case of a professional or analyst, the salary is ¢896.850 (US$1,675), while for intermediate supervisors it is  ¢1.310.176 (US$2,445).

Besides these sectors, which are in first place in the list of higher wages, Nacion.com reports that “… industry follows with ¢1.028.264 (US$1,921) and finally infrastructure companies with ¢983.509 (US$1,838), as the median average wage. ”

Beatriz Aristizabal, representative of Talent Partner, added, “… The calculation includes base salary and additional payments or bonuses received . ” “… The study analyzed data on wages and other monetary benefits of 55 Costa Rican firms, in 2014, in five different sectors. Marketers, infrastructure, technology and telecommunications industry firms, as well as companies selling services ”

The specialist added that the retention and attraction of talent requires a proper salary structure plus a plan to provide career plans and benefits commensurate with achievement of objectives in the companies.

“The benefits should respond to a series of set attributes, according to the position held, experience and other assessments for a balanced policy in the company,” she said.

The wages study is an annual service elempleo.com that seeks to “provide guidance to HR departments with reliable data in their search for talent ,” said Gabriela Segura, commercial head of this brand.
