TODAY NICARAGUA – Former Argentine soccer star, Diego Armando Maradona, has declared himself a “soldier” of the president of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega.

“I am a soldier of Ortega”, said Maradona according to the government portal El 19 Digital.

Maradona Nicaragua from Wednesday night until Friday morning, meeting with President Ortega and giving the government portal an exclusive interview, which was published on Saturday.

“I want to tell Nicaraguans that I want to come back, that they see a friend in Maradona, a friend of Nicaragua, a friend of Ortega and a friend, above all else, of Nicaragua’s struggle,” the Argentine said, according to the report.

Maradona confirmed that his visit to Nicaragua, arriving in a private jet, was a private one. “I am glad I decided to come to Nicaragua and greet Ortega.” said Maradona.
