In October, Aviación closed night flights at the airport to save on operating costs.

Rolando Richmond, spokesperson for Aviación said austerity measures at the airport will continue.

Richmond explained that the night flights will be under the full responsibility of the pilots, in communications with the Air Surveillance unit of the Suguridad Publica (Costa Rica’s airport police unit).

The Pavas airport is located on the west side of San Jose.
