President-elect Luis Guillermo Solís, in his tour of Central America and the Dominican Republic, is flying commercial and in coach class, with the tab being picked up from donations to the Partido Accion Cuidadana (PAC).

His first stop is in Guatemala, then off to El Salvafor, Honduras and Panama, and onto the Dominican Republic on Thursday. Not on his agenda are the small Central American country of Belize and big neighbour, Nicaragua.

The cost for the trip is about US$4.000 dollars, that includes the cost for his security chief, Victor Barrantes and PAC legislator, Carmen Muñoz.

The aim of the quick trip is to meet with the presidents of the region and to personally invite them to the inauguration ceremony at the Estadio Nacional (National Stadium) on May 8.

  1. He is indeed flying commercial. However, 1st class commercial which is not so terrible. However, I do believe CR should have its own plane for no other reason than to simplify “special favors” and to control our gown government destiny.
