The Banco Central (Central Bank) today has reduced the Tasa Básica Pasiva (Prime Rate) even further, dropping to 8.6% from 8.9 the day earlier.
The rate climbed to a high of 12% in January 2009 from a low of 7% a year before that.
on January 24, 2003 the Tasa Básica was 17.5%.
