The companies that dominate this market are Dos Pinos, Coronado, Pops, Monteverde and Sarita, and joining them are foreign brands which are venturing into this area.

Francisco Arias, manager of Corporate Relations and Livestock at Dos Pinos, told Elfinancierocr.com that “… The ice cream category is very dynamic, as consumers can find traditional or innovative ice creams which differ in their presentation, taste and shape. In the Costa Rican ice cream market a diversity of brands converge… The firm focuses its research on current consumer trends such as health, functionality and wellness. ”
