After the criticism that sparked the number of trips abroad by the previous government, President Carlos Alvarado issued a directive to limit official trips.

But, despite the presidential directive, members of his Cabinet have made 127 trips in less than a year with the permission of the Governing Council.

If you make the comparison with the first year of previous governments, you see an already significant reduction, according to the Ministro de la Presidencia (Chief of Staff), Rodolfo Piza.

Piza explains that many of the trips and his team are unavoidable and absolutely necessary since they have to do with the country’s representation in the Central American integration system.
