QCOSTARICA (By Emiliana Garcia, Vozdeguanacaste) From a 200-square-meter lake, you can choose which Tilapia you want to eat in El Lago restaurant in the canton of Hojancha, located in the community of La Libertad, just 2 kilometers west and 50 meters north of the Hojancha Technical Professional High School.

The fish can be prepared with garlic, breaded or in a white sauce with mushrooms.

Also if you prefer, you can enjoy it in ceviche.

If fish is not your thing, you can enjoy a delicious pork chop with potatoes (¢5,500 or $10.35) or filet mignon (¢6,900 or $13). The menu also features chicken cordon blue served with rice, vegetables and mashed potatoes at a price of ¢4,300 ($8.10) or chicken breast in a white sauce with mushrooms, served with potatoes (¢4,500 or $8.50).

On Saturdays starting at 5 p.m., visitors can enjoy karaoke or marimba music.

El Lago also offers the option of just fishing and taking the raw tilapia with you at a price of ¢3,500 ($6.60) per kilogram.

Phone: 2659-8280 / 7072-9952

The Good: The place has a beautiful view and is ideal for spending time together as a family, with affordable prices.

The Bad: It is only open on weekends because they don’t get many clients on weekdays
