Traffic Engineers To Erase Community Painted Street Sign

The street sign painted by residents will be replace by an “official” street marking, says MOPT

QCOSTARICA – Following up our story on Tuesday, of residents in Montes de Oca (San Pedro) painting the cross walk street sign,  traffic engineers at the Ministerio de Obras Publicas y Transportes (MOPT) inspected the work and decided it must be erased.

The sign painted by the residents will be suffering the same fate of similar projects, where communities, tired of the bureaucracy and ‘do nothing’ attitude of the ministry of Transport, take to painting street signs and erecting traffic signals.

But there is good news. At least in this story.

Traffic engineers decided that an “official” signa is warranted. Thus, sometime in the coming week, the makeshift painting will be replaced by an offical road marking.
