QCOSTARICA – In less than 12 hours two shoots outs occurred in San José Thursday, the first before noon in the heart of the city, the second in the evening, in Sabana Norte, in front of the Nissan dealership.
Believed to be a “settling of scores”, three men and a woman were involved in a shooting on Avenida 10 and Calle 2. The shooting took place in the middle of the busy street, with those responsible then taking refuge in a “cuarteria” (rooming house) when police caught up with them.
One man was wounded in the abdomen and required hospitalization. Two guns, along with a bag of various amounts of marijuana and cocaine was seized at the scene.
In La Sabana, around 10:00pm Thursday night, authorities are investigating an incident where a vehicle and motorcycle were involved in an exchange of gunfire.
According to regional director of the Fuerza Publica (Police), Juan Carlos Arias, detained on site were several people and one person injured.
Arias said the motive is unclear at this time.
