QCOSTARICA – In a ceremony held Thursday morning, representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Costa Rica handed over to the authorities of the Directorate of Air Surveillance Service (Dirección del Servicio de Vigilancia Aérea – SVA) of the Ministry of Public Security, police equipment worth US$220,000.
The equipment are new tools for the SVA to strengthen law enforcement and preventive and humanitarian actions, on the ground and in the air.
The donation includes computers scanners specialized in detecting gunpowder and explosives, which will be used by the Airport Police in the airports of the country, flight helmets, survival vests and protective masks for pilots and police officials of the SVA.
