QCOSTARICA – Strong waves sweeping the Pacific coast have created a scenario rarely seen in Playa Jaco (Beach), surprising locals and tourists alike, lasting for hours on Monday.
“It’s shocking what is happening, never seen before”, Marvin Perez, Municipality of Garabito road official, told Telenoticias.
Perez added that the some of the waves reached walls of beachfront hotels, including threatening the municipality’s tower.
Another area affected by similar conditions is the Pacific town of Quepos, one hour south of Jaco.
