Costa Rica’s immigration service is now making available to users and different sectors, such as local governments and ministries, an electronic tool with basic information about documented (legal residents) foreign population in the country.
The application of the data would be key to implementing health and education projects.
According to the immigration service there some 380.000 documented aliens (foreign residents) in Costa Rica, the majority being Nicaraguans, followed by Colombians and Americans.
The immigration website has also been revamped to provide information on the types of visas, residency requirements, etc. There is also a section in English that explains the processes for visas and permits.
