QCOSTARICA – Costa Rican cyclist Andrey Amador has been working hard in the Spanish Tour, helping Movistar team-mates Nairo Quintana and Alejandro Valverde to the 5th and 6th place positions in the tour, with only 2 stages remaining.
Today, the Movistar bosses gave him a small reward, allowing him to accompany a breakaway attack and giving him free reign within that group.
Amador led the stage at times, and in the end was able to post a 4th place finish, while team-mate Fran Ventoso finished the stage in 10th place.
The Movistar team itself is in 1st place overall, with a 23 minute advantage over 2nd place Sky.
