The Coalición de Iniciativas para el Desarrollo (CINDE) – Costa Rica’s foreign investment board – estimates foreign investment in Costa Rica this year will be  US$600 million ollars.

Last year, according to CINDE, 43 investment projects and a foreign investment of US$583 million dollars generated 7.123 new jobs in the services, life sciences and light manufuacturing sectors.

Gabriela Llobet, head of the CINDE, says the foreign investment level achieved in 2013 exceeded goals, and is continuing to recover slowly from the 2008 internatonal economic crisis.
