The man who was intercepted last Friday in Santa Ana decided not to file a complaint with judicial authorities, confirmed the Organismo de Investigacion Judicial (OIJ) after locating him.
The man’s refusal to file a complaint, for the OIJ, means the Sección de Delitos Varios (Miscellaneous Crimes section) of the OIJ has closed the file, opened after a video by the Santa Ana municipal police showed when the man was intercepted on a public road, taken from the vehicle he was a passenger and apparently forced into another vehicle.
The incident occurred on Friday (September 13) in the area of Rio Oro, on the north side of the Ruta 27, in a closed (one way in, and one way out, with security guards on each) upper-scale residential area.
The man’s identity has not been made public.
First reports on Friday identified him as a foreigner, most likely an American. At the time, police ruled out it was a case of kidnapping, given that no ransom demand was made.
