QCOSTARICA – Yet another shopping centre will soon be built, this one in the heart of Paseo Colón, next to Purdy Motors, the Toyota franchisee in Costa Rica.
Purdy, that owned the land, said it sold the one hectare parcel adjoining it offices, to the Promaerica real estate group for the construction of a retail, office and residential complex.
President of Purdy Motors, Javier Quirós, said the company will concentrate its operations in the continuing development of CCuidad Toyota (Toyota City) in La Uruca, with the construction of a new administrative building and expansion of its service centre, showrooms, in-house training, customer area, offices, parks and underground parking.
Construction of “Torre Toyota” (Toyota Tower) is expected to start in 2016.
Quirós added that part of the expansion is the construction of a new specialized workshop for freight vehicles, to accommodate up to 1.600 vehicles monthly.
Among the major construction commerical construction projects in the Central Valley is the City Mall in Alajuela, to be the largest mall in the country and Central America with more than 300 stores, expected to open its doors to the public in October of this year.
