
COSTA RICA NEWS — The Asociación Nacional de Empleados Públicos y Privados (ANEP) says it expects at least 3.000 workers today, Monday, to take part in the protest march against the government’s planned budget cuts.
According to ANEP political adviser, Rafael Mora, it is difficult to predict how may workers will participate in the protest that will begin at 8:30 am and end approximately around 1:00 pm.
Mora said that some 15 trade unions of the central government and judiciary will participate.
The gathering point is at the Parque Central (Central Park) and then move along Avenida Segunda, through the Plaza de la Democracia, ending in front of the Legislative Assembly.
The Policia de Tránsito (traffic police) will be closing off Avenida Segunda and cross streets.
