“Boda Pride” is the LGTBI community wedding fair, which will be convened on July 26, 27 and 28, 2019 at the Centro Nacional de Convenciones (National Convention Center), in Heredia.

This is the first edition that takes place in Central America and the Caribbean. Expected are more than 100 stands will offer various products and services associated with the industry and some 5,000 visitors expected to attend.

According to Johan Villamil, general manager of Villamil Productions of the CR Casas group, the event aims to be the most “glamorous”, since it will gather the best of wedding suppliers.

“The event is born because after being close to approving the same-sex marriage in Costa Rica, many of the couples will want to marry,” said Villamil.

Featured will be national designer Fabricio Berrocal, as well as live music and shows, among others. “Normally it is known that the LGTBI population does not skimp and they want the best wedding, the best attire, the best honeymoon, the best hotels and (the best) places to get married,” added Villamil.

In event has the support of the Cámara de Comercio Diverso de Costa Rica (Costa Rican Diversity Chamber of Commerce), who make efforts to include Costa Rica in the world map of tourism and LGTBI.

The event website says: “The event is aimed at the LGTBI couples between 25 and 55 years old, both working, without children and high socioeconomic status. Mainly couples with a proactive lifestyle, looking for stability both familiar and sentimental and looking for new experiences.”

On its Facebook page, Boda Pride says it is “hetero friendly”.
