QCOSTARICA – The Ministry of Finance (Ministerio de Hacienda) has postponed until April 17 the deadline for individuals and businesses to comment on the draft legislation reforming income and sales taxes.

Originally the deadline for providing comments on the tax proposal was March 27, but at the request of several sectors it has been extended until April 17, according to the chief of Finance, Helio Fallas.

Crhoy.com reports that “… The Treasury explained that to date it has received 29 responses on the proposal to amend the Income Tax, 29 on the new VAT and 34 on other topics. Most of the observations have been made by individuals. ”
