Update: From the video, the event took place in Rio Oro de Santa Ana, on the north side of the Ruta 27, a short distance from guard checkpoint and well know retailer of organic foods. The only exit from here is on the south side of the Ruta 27, by the Plaza Obelisqo.

A video by Policía Municipal de Santa Ana and published by Crhoy.com, shows how the apparent snatching of what is believed to be an American man from the passenger seat of a white sedan in Piedades de Santa Ana.

The vehicle, slowing down at a speed bump, is quickly overtaken by an SUV that blocks the sedan. The driver gets out and watches how several men grab the passenger and is seen being forced into the SUV.

The driver of the sedan then backs up, appearing to be blocking traffic, while the SUV drives off.

Authorities say they have opened a case, but have yet to receive any ransom demand or calls for the missing man believed to be an American.
